Gia Mas Guild Rules

Guild Charter
Preface

This charter should be read and understood by all Guild members. If you have any questions or remarks do not hesitate to contact Guild Master or a Officer.

Mission Statement

Gia Mas is an Age Of Conan guild on the Soulstorm server. Our focus is building a strong guild with good relationships through good teamwork in order to make progress in PVE/PVP content.

Communication

* The main means of communicating with each other is the forum. Use them to tell the rest about your game experiences, to post screenshots, to check for news from Guild Master, Officer, Classleader, or others. Check it often! The forum address is: http://www.giamas.net
* We expect our members to adhere to the forum rules.
* We use TS so we can talk with other guild members while in game. This speeds up playing and increases the success of partying. To use TS you need a headset with a decent microphone and the TS client which can be downloaded at http://www.goteamspeak.com/ The info for the TS server will be given to you in game.

Guild Events

* Guild Master/Officer will organize events like Instance runs etc. It is expected that Members try to get as involved as possible with these events if they have characters suitable for them.
* Guild events will be scheduled by Guild Master/Officer only.

Guidelines

Behavior

* It is expected that all members of the Guild treat each other with respect.
* Bad language is tolerated, but if taken to excess or if members complain about it, the offender will be asked to moderate their language. Continued excessive swearing can ultimately lead to disciplinary action. Also bear in mind that our members come from different backgrounds and all ages races and sexes.
* Other Guild Members. If you need help with item trading or other dealings in the guild, feel free to ask a Officer/Classleader for assistance.
* Cooperation is something we pride ourselves on. We wish this tradition to continue. It is not expected higher level characters give up too much time to help out the lower level characters, however, help is always appreciated and reciprocated.

Partying Raids and Instances

* Agree to a Leader. The Leader is the one who organizes the run as it progresses, he or she is not a dictator, remember you are supposed to be cooperating.
* It is expected that all members of a party involving Guild Members behave in the spirit of the game.
* Loot rules must be established before the group gets involved in the coming adventure. Examples of Looting Systems are: Need before Greed, Roll on BoE, Pass on BoP, DKP etc. Please discuss the matter extensively beforehand if there is the intention to use a non-standard system.
* Members are expected not to pick unnecessary fights with people from outside the Guild. However, should the behavior of an external person in a party/raid be utterly intolerable (e.g. ninja-looting, verbal abuse), all members are encouraged to stick together, and, if appropriate, to warn the Guild as a whole against these persons.

Resources

* Items can be made available to the Guild under terms that the item owner deems fair and can be negotiated between members as they see fit. If necessary a Officer or Classleader can join in the negotiations on a channel to ensure that things stay fair. If especially rare or epic items are found members are encouraged to first find a potential recipient/buyer among our own members.
* If an item is bought outside the Guild (Vendor, AH) or otherwise has caused the owner a cost it is considered only fair that the Member who receives that item repays the costs to the person making it available.
* There is no reason why trading for profit amongst Guild members cannot happen, just be fair about things with each other. Tradeskill items which can be made without a cooldown should be traded at cost; if the materials are supplied the item will be free. Members are encouraged, but certainly not obligated, to share looted items of relatively modest value (trade-goods, green items) for free.
* If you have become the owner of an item through an in-guild exchange this does not give you the right to use it as you wish. If you say you will use an item another Member is about to give you for free then selling it at the AH immediately afterwards will be considered a serious breech of the Charter.

Disputes and Arguments between Members

* We are all human and we will, at some point, disagree with each other. All arguments should be handled discretely. This means no spamming guild with insults, accusations etc. All arguments should be taking to private channels (email, PM's, /w, /p) as soon as possible.
* If a problem can not be resolved please bring it to the attention of the appropriate Guild Master/Officer/Classleader as soon as possible.
* Under no circumstances are arguments to be carried on using the Forums. This causes more problems between Members and makes the Guild look bad. The same rule applies on Teamspeak or any other place where the disagreement can be viewed publicly.
* Guild Master/Officer/Classleader have the final word in any dispute between Members.

Sanctions

We are not a guild that wants to police its members. We hope to use this section only rarely, but any breach can be reported to Guild Master/Officer/Classleader who will deal with the matter.

* Guild Master/Officer/Classleader are responsible for deciding how to deal with Members who break Charter rules.
* Breaches by initiates will face a lower level of tolerance than those of full members; they may be removed without consultation if their actions make clear they don’t share the general guild spirit.
* If problems are related to an item, the class of an item (rare, epic) will be taken into account.

* As before, Guild Master have the final say. A Officer/Classleader is not allowed to deviate from this charter or enforce rules not explicitly mentioned herein without consulting Guild Master first, except under extreme circumstances.
* The Guild reserves the right to change the contents of the Charter at anytime it is deemed necessary to do so. Agreement between Guild Master is sufficient for such changes.

Gia Mas Rank Structure

Ranking System

The ranks within the guild are as follows:
Guild Master
Officer
Classleader
Full Member
Trial
Inactive

Guild Master: There is 1 Guild Master. Guild Master is able to make, break, or change any rule or take any action that he choose, for the benefit of the guild, at his sole discretion. Guild Master will ask for, and listen to people's opinions regularly, and may hold a vote to get an idea of what the guild members want, their decisions are law within the guild. No decision can be made by just one of the GMs with out conversing with one of the other 2 before the decision is made and carried out.

Officer: There are 3 Officer. Officer member is an officer rank given to a member that has shown to have a loyal commitment to the guild. The members of this rank will have most all of the abilities of the Guild Master other than demote, rename and disband. They will be the members that will be trusted to run raids when one of the raid leaders are not online. Officer will have the ability to invite new members and promote. They will also be able to delegate tasks that need to be done to the most qualified member.

Classleader: Each of the 3 Hyboria classes will have a Class Leader designated within the guild. Classleader will be responsible for maintaining an awareness of what is going on with their class within the game, (FunCom development plans, talent builds, solo and grouping strategies, etc.) and ensuring that all the other guild members within their class have access to and understand this information. Guild Master, Officer and any member not at least a Full Member are ineligible to be Classleader.

Full Member: Any member that has reached the 8 week mark of the recruitment requirements.

Trial: New members less than 8 weeks. This is a probation period. After the 8 week the member will be given the rank of Full Member.

Inactive: If a character is inactive for 15 days without talking to Guild Master or a Officer then they will automatically be demoted to Inactive status and a letter will be sent to the member's mailbox explaining the change in status. An additional 15 days of inactivity after that demotion will result in removal from the guild. Another letter will be sent explaining the removal and who to talk to about re-admission. That player is given another 7 days to reply. This leaves 37 days for the player to login and halt his/her character's removal from the guild. If a character is removed from the guild, and you did not contact Guild Master or a Officer, you will have to re-apply to the guild. A character can be inactive indefinitely without any removal from the guild as long as Guild Master or Officer is notified ahead of time via in-game mail, e-mail, or Gia Mas forum posting.

a) Promotions: Classleader are appointed by Guild Master, Officer and current Classleader at their sole discretion based on performance and knowledge of their class. A member can be recommended by other players but the final decision is made by Guild Master, Officer, and current Classleader. Full Member interested in these positions should contact Guild Master, Officer and/or Classleader and participate in an interview with Guild Master, Officer and/or Classleader before they make a final decision. Please note that there is a limit to the number of Classleader so there may not be openings for the rank a member is interested in.

b) Removal from the guild: This can be performed by Guild Master for any reason, or can be initiated by two or more Officer. Before two or more Officer can remove a member for a typical infraction, they must be able to demonstrate that the guild rules or guidelines within this document were violated even after a warning was provided to the member. Severe violations of the rules or guidelines may result in immediate dismissal with no warning. As with all guild decisions, Guild Master have the final say and may approve of or veto any action.
